Functional Safety Consultant

As a Functional Safety Consultant, you will support OEMs and automotive suppliers in implementing functional safety standards throughout the product lifecycle, with a strong focus on ISO 26262. Acting as a technical expert for our clients, you will assist in the establishment of the functional safety system, identify system risks, define safety concepts, conduct functional safety analyses, and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry safety requirements.

Responsibilities:


 Provide consulting on functional safety strategies and processes in accordance with ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and related standards

Conduct and lead functional safety analyses, including HARA, FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA

Guide clients through safety lifecycle implementation from concept phase to validation

Participate in safety audits, assessments, and compliance checks

Prepare key safety documentation, including safety plans, concepts, cases, and technical reports

Collaborate closely with system architecture, software development, and project management teams to ensure safety goals are achieved

Support customer communication and participate in project management

Deliver training and workshops on safety methodologies, tools, and processes to clients or internal teams

Must Have:


Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Automotive, Automation, or a related technical discipline

Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry with hands-on functional safety work and knowledge of ISO 26262

Ability to independently perform safety analyses such as HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA

Understanding of automotive E/E architecture and embedded systems development processes

Strong communication skills and customer-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced project environments

Good command of written and spoken English

Nice to Have:


Experience in safety audits, assessments, or certification support

Background in software, hardware, or system development

Familiarity with ASPICE, SOTIF (ISO 21448), or ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity)

Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture or model-based development workflows

Proficiency with at least one functional safety tool (e.g., REANA、Medini Analyze、APIS IQ)

Proficiency in a second language besides English
